It has been a busy week enjoying the warm weather and getting my flowers planted. Haven't spent much time at the sewing machine other than to put the craft cave back together after company on Memorial Day weekend. I am out on business the next couple of weeks, so working on what projects to take with me to work on in the evenings. It may be working with charm packs and jelly rolls, since they are compact and easy to take along with minimal supplies. Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and hope to see everyone at our June 8 workshop. :):)

Scrappy Stitchers May 11, 2013 Workshop

Frossie Dauer, Nancy Kirkwood, Judy Williamson, Julie Wagner, Susan Sommers, Taylor Rhoades and I met for a wonderful day of sewing at the Houcktown United Methodist Church Annex. It was cool outside, but warm inside with all of the sewing going on. There were some wonderful projects being worked on. We took a break to run to the local Dairy Bar for lunch. After lunch it was back to sewing. We met a young girl from the church who will be working on her first sewing 4-H project and we offered our help if she needed it.

The ladies are busy working away and talking. Many things were accomplished at this workshop.

Taylor completed her very first quilt top. She used the Lasagna quilt pattern and several jelly rolls she bought at JoAnn's

Judy mades this wonderful Dresdan applique quilt top from a kit she had purchased. Love the colors!

Julie did a beautiful quilt in batiks using a pattern called North Star. A nice log cabin variation she is calling the Log Cabin Carpenter's Wheel.

Julie also created this wall hanging she calls the Delectable Mountain Block.

Frossie was working on a black and white quilt top for a wedding gift. She is using the pattern It's Good To Be Square.

Nancy did a quilt top using the 3-6-9 pattern. It had a very outdoor feel to it with the fabric she used.

I worked on walker bags from our Stitchin' Time Quilt Guild for the nursing home and Susan was working on a baby quilt.
