January 10, 2015

Well the cold weather didn't keep some of the Scrappy Stitchers from coming out and spending the day sewing.

Frossie found this pattern on line and decided to make several of these cute Christmas trees. You can find a great tutorial on YouTube called Quilted Christmas Tree Tutorial (No Sew) | Fabric, www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1YVvxYTBBE

Brent was making these colorful place mats on his embroidery machine. It is fun to watch these machines create.

Judy was continuing her work on her hexagon quilt being sewn all by hand.

Brent is also working on a Judy Niemeyer's Fire Island Hosta Queen quilt pattern which is all paper piecing. It can be found here: http://www.quiltworx.com/patterns/fire-island-hosta-queen/

Tammy is making these wonderful blocks for a baby quilt on her embroidery machine.

These are based on Baa Baa Black Sheep.

More Sheep blocks.

These blocks are based on Nursery Rhymes.

A lot of work goes into making these on an embroidery machine with all the detail and color changes.

Tammy also created these wonderfully colorful potholders to hang in her kitchen.

My project for the day was working on hand sewing down the binding on this quilt. I have a whole stack to do. It is my goal for 2015 to complete the binding on all of the quilts I have done before moving on to any more projects. A lofty goal I hope to accomplish. I have a total of 7 to complete and two already done.

We broke up early today day, as everyone had other things going on and the room we met in got a little cold with the cold weather outside. We will see what February brings.

Your fellow Scrappy Stitcher,

Theresa
