We had a wonderful day which consisted of a potluck Christmas luncheon and a wonderful block exchange. Had quilters coming and going all day. It was a wonderful way to end our workshops for 2014. Looking forward to more workshops in 2015. We continue to acquire a few more quilters each time we have a workshop.

Now onto on the projects being worked on for the day!!

Andrea was busy adding decorations to this Christmas tree she created.

 Andrea went on to create this cheerful framed picture quilt that she was giving to an Aunt as a gift.

 Vicky was being silly by wearing a microwave bowl potholder on her head!

Brent was very busy completing these microwave bowl potholders for Christmas presents.

 Tammy was displaying her expertise on her embroidery machine by making these cute little owl coin purses.

Grace shared her appliqued quilt top that she completed. This was her first applique project.

Grace also shared this beautiful quilt top that she completed.

 Sheryl completed this wonderful Santa wall hanging.

 Joanne worked on quilting these place mats.

 Frossie made these Christmas ornaments from a tutorial she found online.

Frossie also made these mug rugs to give as gifts.

I spent the day hand sewing the binding down on a quilt I had completed. As usual I was taking pictures of everyone else's projects and none of my own. I will have to work on taking pictures of what I do to share. Looking forward to an even better year in 2015. I have high hopes on completing more projects in the coming year.

August was another slow month for the Scrappy Stitchers, as all of the summer fun was still calling before school and all things fall started back. Terry came and brought her bounty of items that she has been working on.

 

Terry made this Off the Rail quilt top out of batiks. Such beautiful colors!

These have been her projects while she spends her time in Florida away from the Ohio winters.

She made this wonderful bowl out of fabric and a clothes line rope.

 

 

September's workshop looks to have more of a turnout. We will even have a new person joining us for some sewing. Can't wait to see who all can make it for a day of fellowship and sewing!

As the summer months are in full swing, the outdoors is calling to one and all and only a few of us, brave staying indoors and sewing. 

Andrea brought in her completed quilt top from our 2013 Christmas Block Exchange. Turned out really beautiful! Everyone put a lot hard work in their blocks. Makes me want to get my top completed!

Frossie continues to work on her Pat Sloan Globetrotting Challenge blocks. I am very far behind on this challenge, but hopefully winter will contain more sewing time for me to catch up.

I wasn't able to stay for the workshop, so what time I was there I spent sewing buttons on a batch of hand towels my mom crocheted the tops on for me. I love using these in my kitchen.

I have been very far behind with my blogging, but life has a way of taking over sometimes and the little things like blogging take a back burner.

My life has been consisting of wedding plans for our middle son and youngest son. Planning a family reunion for September with most of my brothers and their families coming for a week. Re-painting my quilt block on our barn in preparation for the Hancock County Barn Quilt Block tour starting this summer. Chairing the Registration Committee for the 2nd Findlay Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Along with a wonderful summer, I have put up strawberry jam, tomatoe juice and pickle relish. Also with trips to New York and Texas to see family thrown in the mix. All of this being done with a full time job in the fore front.

I haven't had the sewing time like I would like, but I am still enjoying it all.

Here is to fall and winter bringing more sewing time for one and all.

What a wonderful and exciting day. Today was our designated day to exchange the blocks from our summer block exchange. We had a lot of people show today to sew, visit and exchange.

Beverly made this wonder shades of red Anvil pattern quilt.



Brent was working on this June Hoffa pattern called Crackers. Loved the fall colors being used.

Vicky spent the day working on these beautiful Churn Dash blocks in shades of batiks.

Terry did this wonderful OSU quilt for her stepson's 40th birthday. Her little funny on this was a Michigan label on the back!

I was working on a Turning Twenty quilt top being done in shades of reds and creams.

Andrea was working on a sample of the new block for our fall block exchange. This was her version. It will be interesting to see what everyone in the exchange uses as a center for thier block. 

Frossie was working on block 5 and 6 of Pat Sloan's Globetrotting challenge.
